AVQ2042DAB is a DAB/DAB+/T-DMB modulator packed with a set of innovative features presented by an efficiency enhancing ActiveCore® IP core. Integrated ActiveCore® platform boosts the performance with a proprietary linear and non-linear digital adaptive predistortion engine and a monitoring receiver with extensive measurement, plotting and alarm capabilities.
Robust and upgradable design allows for AVQ2042DAB to be easily integrated into existing transmitter systems. AVQ2042DAB employs a direct conversion process to provide an RF output from 47 MHz to 946 MHz (optional 1452 to 1492 MHz) with superior shoulders and MER.
Full remote management and control as well as remote firmware upgrades are provided.
Signal Inputs and RF Outputs
AVQ2042DAB modulator is supplied with two signal inputs: G.703 for ETI NI and G.704 for ETI NA signals.
The standard RF output covers a frequency range from 47 MHz to 946 MHz (optional 1452 to 1492 MHz) in 1 Hz steps. The output level is adjustable from -10 dBm to 0 dBm in 0.1 dB steps and the user can set the polarity of the spectrum to Inverted or Non-inverted as required.
The direct conversion process offers superior performance with Shoulders Levels ≤ -55 dBc and MER ≥ 50 dB.
Linear and Non-Linear DAP
Based on integrated ActiveCore® IP core, digital adaptive predistorter (DAP) surpasses competition in performance. The engine effectively compensates non-linear and linear distortions in digital transmitter and repeater systems, thus increasing overall efficiency of the system with more output power. Both ActiveCore® linear and non-linear modules provide complex signal processing.
RF Layer Monitoring Receiver
In the context where broadcasters are more and more concerned about reducing the network OPEX costs and at the same time limiting impact on the environment, it becomes important for the transmitter systems and repeater networks to be designed to be as reliable as possible in terms of QoS (Quality of Service) provided to the service subscribers.
The receiver allows not only monitoring DAB/DAB+/T-DMB signal parameters but also can be used for estimation and characterization of the transmitter system performance – distortions introduced by the amplification and filtering chains.
The RF layer monitoring receiver seamlessly integrated with the modulator alarm system s and allows setting up alarm triggers and thresholds on a wide range of the transmitted signal critical parameters.
Additionally, an operator have an access to rich plotting data via dedicated Ethernet port to visually represent monitored parameters, including spectrum, constellation, AM-AM, AM-PM, etc.
This feature allows remote control of the AVQ2042DAB via Ethernet interface and is based on an internal Web server. The Web pages stored on the Web server are designed as a complete graphical user interface (GUI) for testing the status and setting the parameters of the modulator. The Web interface allows an operator to access AVQ2042DAB from virtually any web-enabled device with browsing software.
This feature allows remote control of the AVQ2042DAB in accordance with the SNMP protocol (Get, Set, and SNMP traps). It is intended for systems solutions where it is desired to integrate the control of a range of SNMP compliant equipment in a common management environment.
Optionally, AVQ2042DAB can be configured with RS232 interface dedicated for communication with a 3rd party UPS. In this case, the modulator is updated with an extra set of SNMP parameters and will actively monitor the UPS.
